MyRouter VWR, which stands for MyRouter Virtual Wi-Fi Router, is a program that takes advantage of the built-in virtual Wi-Fi technology in the Windows 7 operating system.

Review:

MyRouter VWR, or MyRouter, is an extremely easy-to-use program that acts just like a virtual router. This program allows users to turn their PCs into local wireless hot spots. A virtual router can be set up in just a few simple clicks. After setting up the virtual router, users can connect other devices to it. For example, they could easily connect their Blackberry, iPhone, iPad, Android phone and more.

One of the great things about MyRouter is that it's designed extremely well. It's easy to use and straightforward. Users don't have to deal with tons of different menus just to get the program to work. All they have to do is select a Wi-Fi name that the other devices can look for, and set up a password.

Another useful feature of MyRouter is the control it gives the users. For example, MyRouter allows users to set the maximum number of people who can connect to their hot spots. So if they only want to connect their cellphones to the virtual router, they can. This is done by simply setting their max number of peers to one.

The biggest problem with this program, if you can call it that, is that not everyone is going to have a use for this program. The computer has to be hooked up to some kind of Internet to use it. This works fine if users have some kind of wireless adapter card that allows them to get Internet access via a cellphone network. However, if users are just getting Internet access via a home router, it would be pointless to have other devices connected to a computer via MyRouter. It would be much easier just to have them connect to the actual router.

One cool thing that MyRouter can do is act like a single booster. For example, if the Internet connection is too far away for smaller devices to read, such as phones or gaming consoles, the user could set up MyRouter and have the devices connect to that. The computer could then be set at a halfway point between the actual router and the room where the user needs Internet. This is an example of using MyRouter as a bridge.
